Through its partnerships with businesses in the field, its international presence and its customized internships, LaSalle College's Managing Senior-Citizen Homes program provides its students with a practical and conceptual understanding of management in the age of market globalization.

The Managing Senior-Citizen Homes program will enable the students to acquire competencies such as:

Managing the operations of a senior citizens home.

Managing the staff of an establishment.

Marketing and selling the services of the establishment.

Supervising the renting of the dwelling units.

Establishing and auditing operational budgets.

Ensuring the satisfaction of the home's residents.

This program is for people who :
Wish to start or give a new direction to a career in hospitality for senior citizens and the management of services to senior citizen home residents;
Work in senior citizen homes and are interested in supervising services;
Hold a graduating diploma in secondary or professional studies or whose educational background is deemed sufficient by the college;
Have accumulated work experience in various areas of activity.

Graduates will be able to fill positions such as:

Home director
Owner-operator
Department head: food, building and maintenance, health care, recreation, etc.
Lodging consultant
Administrative assistant

Course List

The Managing Senior-Citizen Homes program comprises 570 hours over three semesters and is made up of 11 courses most of which are timed to cope with the requirements of the senior citizen home sector. The teaching emphasizes real-life situations, case studies, concrete simulation and on-site work experience.

Evening 3 Semerters

11 evening courses over three semesters, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
(17 semaines; lundi, mercredi et 3 à 6 samedis).
– 1st semester: 180 hours
– 2nd semester: 180 hours
– 3rd semester: 210 hours
570 hours of courses in theory
and applied training.
