LaSalle College , always on the lookout for the latest innovations, is now offering a new ACS in this field: IP Telephony Development.

IP telephony combines the power of the telephone with that of the computer, thanks to a single infrastructure using the I nternet P rotocol (IP). Therefore, different types of communication (voice, data, images, video) may be processed and transmitted by the same infrastructure.

Since corporate telephony is increasingly moving towards IP telephony (ToIP), telecommunication-network professionals must now adapt to this important transformation. As a result, this ACS will provide you with all the tools you need to be fully prepared for this new situation.

With this training, you will be able to integrate and manage the functions and equipment specific to IP telephony. In addition, you will have the opportunity to become familiar with the important principles related to IP telephony, such as:

•	Comparing ToIP and traditional telephone networks
•	Defining ToIP architecture
•	IP-network planning and implementation
•	Maximizing IP networks
•	IP and sub-IP network overview
•	VoIP* normalization and protocols (H.323, SIP, MGCP/H.248, etc.)
•	Quality/service issues
•	VoIP* architecture and products (materials, terminals, etc.)
•	VoIP* functionalities and services
•	Migration impacts (QoS, availability, addresses, security, etc.)
•	VoIP* evolution
•	Case study of multi-extension telephone architecture migration to VoIP*
•	Projected configuration and components

*VoIP : vo ice IP - that is, telephony using IP, video and other real-time interpersonal communication applications

N.B. - This training is also intended for marketing representatives and managers who wish to master IP telephony.
